“I feel like this needs to happen right away.”
Urgency is a common lever clients pull.
Because it hits your empathy.
You care.
You want to help.
You don’t want to be the reason something falls apart.
But when you let someone else’s urgency override your system, you teach:
“Pressuring me works. Watch me cave.” :)
Here’s the shift: make urgency a pricing tier.
“I can do next available. If you need a rush turnaround, the cut-the-line option is [$X,XXX].”
No emotion.
No drama.
Just options.
Ask your system to do the work: either create a defined rush fee with clear scope… or remove rush as an option entirely.
The next time someone says, “This needs to happen now,” pause. Don’t absorb their urgency. Offer the cut-the-line option instead.
If holding boundaries feels harder than it should, you don’t have to figure them out alone.
Inside Peak Freedom, you’ll find replay trainings on boundaries, plus get live, private 1:1 mindset coaching with Natalie to help you put them in place. Clear boundaries baked into your systems mean fewer negotiations, fewer interruptions, and more time back.
