Stop selling chicken with a side of strategy

Most accountants sell tax returns like this:

Chicken with a side salad.

The chicken is the tax prep and filing.
The side salad is the advisory – tax strategy, planning, projections, conversations.

The main thing is the return.
The advice just comes along for the ride, almost as if it’s an afterthought.

But that’s backwards.

Because the real value for the client isn’t the tax return.

The real value is being available to discuss decisions before they’re made, like:

– deciding when to buy (or not buy) equipment
– how to spend down retirement savings
– planning ahead for estimated taxes
– navigating life changes
– avoiding surprises

In other words: thinking.

The return is just the record of what already happened.

So here’s the shift Peak Freedom members are making.

Instead of selling:

Chicken with a side salad.

They’re selling:

Dinner salad with a side of chicken.

They’re making the tax strategy and planning the main course.

They include the tax prep and filing as something of a formality.

Same ingredients.

Completely different plate.

Much higher prices.

If you want help turning tax strategy into the main course instead of the side dish, that’s exactly the kind of work we do inside Peak Freedom.
