Stop trying to price tax projections in a vacuum

CPA Jane asks, “How do I price a tax projection?”

You can’t.

It’s like dividing by zero.

It’s the same as asking, “How do I price water?”

Well… who’s buying it, and how are you packaging it?

Water can sell for $0 from the water fountain, or $1,000 a liter, depending on the buyer, the packaging, and the context.

Tax projections work the same way.

There is no inherent price.

Value depends entirely on:

– Who you’re selling to

– What problem it solves for your buyer

– The package it comes in

Until you know your buyer, you can’t price a tax projection.
