What Simple Systems actually looks like
In the last email, I talked about why I felt compelled to make this teachable – not because it was clever, but because it had solved a problem I couldn’t even see while I was inside it.
Today, I want to make this very concrete.
Simple Systems, Free Time is not a massive overhaul, and it’s not a long, drawn-out implementation.
It’s a short, focused setup designed to give your business a reliable operating system – one that doesn’t depend on your memory, vigilance, or constant mental effort to keep things moving.
Here’s what that looks like in practice.
The course itself is about a dozen 5 to 8-minute videos. Most people watch them straight through once, just to understand the shape of the system. Then they circle back and implement step by step.
If you focus, you can do the bulk of the setup in a weekend.
That’s intentional.
When you’re switching systems, you don’t want one foot on the dock and one foot on the boat for very long. This is designed to help you make the switch cleanly and move on.
The system pulls together a few well-tested ideas – including principles from Getting Things Done and Inbox Zero – and applies them specifically to running a professional services business.
The goal isn’t to make you “more productive.”
The goal is to:
get work out of your head
give tasks a single clear place to live
create predictable rhythms for daily and weekly work
reduce the background noise of unfinished business
When it’s set up, you stop using your brain to remember what needs to be done and how to do it. The system carries that load instead.
If you’re curious, Simple Systems, Free Time lives inside Peak Freedom, and you can start it whenever you like.
Either way works.
In the next email, I want to share how this has landed for other firm owners – the kind of relief they describe once the system is in place, and why many of them say they didn’t realize how much mental weight they were carrying until it was gone.
Some people ease into January with leftovers and naps. Some people set up systems. Both are valid. If that second option is calling your name, you can get started anytime.
