Where Do You Want to Land on These Five Continuums?

How to Create Packages Without Overthinking It
Package and price well, and you can hit your revenue goals working half the hours.

When I think about building the exact firm you want, I don’t think about one ideal model.

I think about a set of continuums — and where you want to land on each of them.

Most firm owners haven’t been given permission to decide these deliberately.

Here are five I see matter most:

  1. Money — Are you earning what you actually want to earn? Not what sounds good on the internet — what you want.

  2. Stress vs. calm — How much pressure, urgency, and overwhelm are you willing to tolerate? Where do you want to land on the chill vs. up-to-my-eyeballs spectrum?

  3. Hours — Do you work the number of hours you want to work? That might be 15. Or 25. Or 40. Or 60. There’s no correct number — only your number.

  4. Flexibility & a-synchronicity — Can you work when it suits your life? Early mornings, late nights, weekends, school hours — or not at all?

  5. Role mix (doing, managing, owning) — Do you enjoy technical work, or do you want to be done with it? Do you like managing people — or avoid it? Do you want to be hands-on every day, or check in a few times a week while the firm runs?

There is no single “right” business.

There is only the firm you want:

  • doing work you enjoy

  • for clients you like

  • on a schedule that fits your life

  • with the money where it needs to be.

Please don’t let the internet, social media, governing bodies, or anyone you meet at a conference attempt to convince you otherwise.
