Where should I post clients' reviews?
If I were looking for reviews for a CPA or accountant I was considering working with, I would probably look in two places:
their website – where yes, they can be doctored, but this would be in poor faith and hard to imagine a trustworthy person doing… If there are enough testimonials (say 5 or more), it’s enough to paint a picture. It would seem difficult to me to fabricate testimonials in a way that somehow wouldn’t be detectable.
LinkedIn – because they are written and posted by the author, yes, they’re more trustworthy, but TBH, I’m less likely to go looking there.
Personally, it wouldn’t cross my mind to look at Google Reviews for a CPA. I rely on Google Reviews for plenty of things—but choosing someone who’s going to know my finances and be in my business on an ongoing basis is different. That trust is built in the research and conversation phase. Against that backdrop, Google Reviews feel a bit detached from how I decide who I want to work with.
That’s just me, though!
The best people to ask are your existing clients and your prospects: “When considering a CPA, where online would you go to read testimonials and reviews?”
Put your reviews where they tell you they’re likely to search.
ABOVE ALL, REMEMBER…
That you gather and display testimonials is more important than where you display testimonials.
